My journey would not have happened if it weren’t for the many influences I’ve had in my process. I owe a great deal to the early founders of the men’s movement – Robert Bly, Sam Keen, Robert L Moore and Michael Meade. Their works have been pivotal in how I’ve oriented myself through this journey. Joseph Campbell – the master of storytelling – who’s influence on me and my life cannot be measured. He sought to keep us on the pathway of integrity through the exploration of myth and tale as handed down by our ancestors.
More contemporary, I want to acknowledge Brett McKay (and his wife) for the Art of Manliness site and podcast. Brett, in my opinion, provides men with material that is priceless, regardless of what path your on. My favorite site, bar none.
Last, to the men that were physically present in my life – Ted Stevens, Jake Eagle, Jim Povec and Bruce Taylor – they saw my potential, then gave a bit of themselves to help push me along. I am forever grateful.
My work on this site is a compilation of what I’ve gained from reading, learning and then doing it. Business start-ups, relationships, marriage and fatherhood – I’ve had the good fortune to be apart of life’s great pageant. But the day is not over, and there is a great deal more to be done. To the field I go.
